Monitor Everything From Your Pocket

Cleo Clarify and Cleo EDI Integrator users will have full visibility to their systems all on their smartphones – Droid and iPhone. This includes server health, successful and unsuccessful processes, transactions at the trading partner level, EDI and non-EDI, and more…

In additional to being compatible to Cleo products, ProaKtor is agnostic to server and application. This means that our open-source developer APIs will allow end users to monitor non-Cleo servers and non-Cleo applications.

Users that choose to use the Cleo Harmony Cloud offering, will also have the option to use ProaKtor SaaS. ProaKtor SaaS will give end-users full visibility to their business operations in the cloud.

Resolve Cleo EDI Integrator Issues Faster :: Part 1

Posted on 5th February 2017

Cleo Communications Support

Cleo EDI Integrator support issues should not be difficult but sometimes end-users might need to call a Cleo support Engineer. When users call Cleo Support there are items that can help the end-user move the ticket faster and help resolve the issue faster.

Many times the Cleo Support Engineers will be better equipped to support and answer  customers’ issues when issues are emailed to [email protected]

In the part 1 of our posts, we will review Inbound Translation Issues and Outbound Translation Issues.

Inbound Translation Issues

Before calling support, take option #4 (Work with incoming application data log) from the mailroom and locate the respective inbound translation entry/log.

Cleo EDI Integrator inbound application data log

In the example below, we have a few formula errors.

Cleo EDI Integrator inbound application data message queue

If the inbound message queue does not provide enough information, then we would want to look at the job log:

310610/HOPPES/TRNSTD4414

If the end-user is unable to make the determination of the error, then providing this information to the Cleo Support will help resolve your issue.

Outbound Translation Issue

Before calling support, take option #9 (Work with outbound application data log) from the Mailroom Menu and locate the respective outbound translation entry/log.

Cleo EDI Integrator outbound application data log

After we placed an “M” on the entry to get the messages below. There are several issues occurring. One of the issues is related to an External File Lookup for F4104K13. More information on the EFL issue can be reviewed in the job log:  689580/HOPPES/A000322612

Cleo EDI Integrator outbound application message queue

To see the job log:  689580/HOPPES/A000322612 we can place a ‘J’ on the outbound log entry to see more information (below)

Cleo EDI Integrator outbound application data log for job log

In addition to placing a “J” or “M” on the outbound log entry, users can also place an “E” or “F” on the entry. Below we placed an “E” on the entry and we see that ST02 is null

Cleo EDI Integrator outbound segment element errors

ISSUE STILL UNRESOLVED

If end-users are still perplexed about the inbound or outbound issue, providing screen shots of the message Queue, segment/element errors and the job log, will help Cleo. End-users can send this information to [email protected]

Sean Hoppe Consulting Group Difference.

Let us show you how to save money and learn at the same time!

We have been exclusively working with EXTOL/Cleo customers since 2006 and growing rapidly.

In a PREVIOUS POST, we showed 2 good reasons we provide great customer service and have been successful since 2016.

Below are 2 more reasons we have been successful:

Exclusively Supporting Cleo/EXTOL: In today’s world it is hard to be an expert in everything. Where some firms tout experience with EVERYTHING; we broadcast our exclusive Cleo/EXTOL experience and the inter-workings of their solutions.

We Dominate our Space: We show current and future customers how to empower themselves with Cleo/EXTOL products for FREE; not many companies can make this claim. We have been giving away free tips, advice, error resolutions and free consultations since 2006. We don’t get paid for our FREE  instructions, tips and articles; we enjoy assisting fellow users.

Let us show you how to save money and learn at the same time!

We have been exclusively working with EXTOL/Cleo customers since 2006 and growing rapidly.

Here are some reasons we have been successful:

Better Value with a Better Price: When customers compare our prices to the level of service, we win hands down. We do not have a bloated infrastructure where customers have to pay the salary of a President, Salesman, and Services Director.

We Work as a Team in 1 Location: Our full time employees all work in the same location. This allows us to learn/adapt. This would not happen if the resources were spread out geographically.

Cleo :: Glassdoor July 2016 Employee Review

Posted on 7th August 2016

Employees in the ‘thick of things’ are seeing positive growth with the recent acquisition of EXTOL International. Below is a recent review from Glassdoor.com

“Growing fast in a growing market!”

Current Employee - Senior Acct Manager

I have been working at Cleo Communications full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Cleo has a strong pedigree and great customer base to leverage. Each day is a challenge but you can be confident you are helping customers and don’t have to feel like a used car salesman.

Cons

Spread thin during massive growth. Scaling some departments is a challenge and to operationalize an organization after a major acquisitions (EXTOL) is tricky to align new responsibilities.

Advice to Management

Focus on bringing in top talent from colleges & universities around the area. Great to have Sr staff that are industry experts but Cleo shouldn’t be afraid to invest in top level collegiate talent.

EXTOL Employees Named to Cleo Leadership

On May 20, CLEO updated its senior leadership to include Matt Baran, Jack Byrne, and Peter Harper. These additions comes as Cleo comes closer to merging with EXTOL International.

Another EU has passed and this year users saw many new faces and different name tags. All the EXTOL employees were identified as Cleo employees and Cleo leadership (CEO, President and VPs) were present. Tony Baran was still identified as CEO of EXTOL International.

This User Conference was the first time, in a long time, gave users many options to partake in, outside the given facilities. Being the conference was in Vegas, no more needs to be said.

TAKE AWAYS:

On the first day there was a Q&A session with Tony, Mahesh, and Sumit (below)

One of the dying questions, that was asked numerous times by customers, was about EXTOL Secure Exchange (ESX). Users wanted to know if EXTOL Secure going to stay in its current form or migrate to a CLEO Solution.

Mahesh addressed this issue by letting users know that in the long run, perhaps 12-18 months (IMO), users will find an easy migration path to move from ESX to VL Trader (IMO)

Being that CLEO is a communications company this would make sense; plus there is no need to support two identical solutions. Also, it is cost effective given that Cleo would not have to certify multiple solutions with the Drummond Group.

In an earlier post we discussed Beginner sessions for EBI 4 / Cleo Clarify. Below we will review intermediate classes being offered at EXTOL University 2016

Managing Database Changes with DB Refresh Wizard

Scott Bensinger - This workshop will show you how to use the DB Refresh Wizard to update your Database Schemas with a single click (or two!) of your mouse.

Things You Didn’t Know You Could Do with EBI

How do we prevent an entire batch  of documents from being accidentally resent? How do we automate the resending of failed   documents? When things go bump in the night, how do we mitigate time-consuming and tedious  manual clean-up activity across multiple systems and applications?

Best Practices and Methodologies for Testing

Ali Jenan - This  session will discuss the multiple layers of testing and ownership that goes with them. If you want to be a champion on a project that has a “successful” go-live, then this is a session you shouldn’t miss.

Designing for Reuse

Ali Jenan - This session will assist you with ideas on developing for the long term with reusable objects that will make your life easier. Work smarter for a more streamlined  EBI system that others will envy!

This acquisition will usher in a new era of blood and re-rejuvenate EXTOL EDI Integrator and EXTOL Business Integrator.

EXTOL April 5th 2016 Press Release:

EXTOL Blog Review - Revenue Growth

Posted on 19th November 2014

The Dollar Value of Integration Part 2: Revenue Growth

As a follow-up to October’s post , EXTOL’s Jim Alibright discusses Revenue Growth in his November post: The Dollar Value of Integration - Part 2: Revenue Growth.

Jim challenges us to think OUTSIDE THE BOX to offer trading partners multiple channels to share data. Meaning, in addition to performing the traditional EDI we can share more data via multiple channels.

The Dollar Value of Integration Part 2: Revenue Growth Thinking outside the box

A couple ways we can use EXTOL Business Integrator (EBI) to share more data.

WEBSERVICES:

  • Web Service SOAP Provider to share order status, from back-end ERP.
  • Web Server REST Provider to allow trading partners to upload EDI/XML/CSV data.

Review of EXTOL Chronicles - Counting 837 Claims

Posted on 4th November 2014

image

In October’s “Ask the Integrator”, Barry is asked how to count number HIPAA inbound 837 (Institutional/Professional/Dental) claims in any given day. Since there can be multiple claim (CLM - Loop 2300) segments per ST/SE, there is no easy way to determine, in EXTOL EDI Integrator (EEI).

Barry offers the solution of creating an additional database table and adding it to the Inbound 837 fileset. I like this idea because we can capture pertinent 837 information such as claim number, trading partner, date, time and etc.

ANOTHER WAY TO COUNT CLAIMS:

Users can implement the EXTOL External Call INCDTAARA (Increment Data Area). With INCDTAARA users can increment a specific data area for every CLM segment that is received. In the program we can substitute the portion that retrieves the qualifier information (P4CDQD) and use today’s date to determine the DTAARA.

image

Note: Users will want to create the DTAARA with the IBM job scheduler so it exists before the external call is executed.

EXTOL Blog Review - Time to Revenue

Posted on 22nd October 2014

image

In Jim Albright’s September blog post of What is the Dollar Value of Integration? Part 1: Time to Revenue  there is discussion of how fast an EDI integration can occur. This discussion focuses on the order-to-cash cycle EDI documents and how soon they can be in developed, tested, and promoted to production.

As many of us know, EXTOL Business Integrator (EBI) is more than an EDI integrator, it is an Any-to-Any Integrator. To many companies the purchase of EXTOL is an investment and we will show how we can companies can realize a faster ROI (Return on Investment)

In a previous EBI/JDEdwards E1 implementation we were able to show the EXTOL end-user that they could start using realizing savings on day one by using EBI’s A2A (Application-to-Application) capabilities.

The JDEdwards customer was migrating from OneWorld to E1 and had four E1 environments.

  • DV- Development
  • PY- Testing
  • CV- Conversion
  • PD- Production

During the E1 implementation phase there were business requirements that necessitated data to be migrated between the 4 environments at a whim. JDEdwards required the data to be in a spreadsheet/csv format to properly export/import the data sets such as:

  • Purchase Orders (F47011/F47012)
  • Invoices (F47046/F47047
  • Address book table entries (F0101)
  • Trading Partner Master table entries (F4780)

The EXTOL user did not have the time nor patience to put together neatly formatted data spreadsheets to feed into JDEdwards. However, they did have EXTOL Business Integrator. Having just purchased EBI a few days ago, the new EXTOL client was able to migrate data between their 4 environments within hours.

This allowed the customer to focus on actual JDE development and on-board their EDI trading partners faster.

EXTOL University - Introduction to EBI 3 Studio

Posted on 10th October 2014

On the 2nd day of EXTOL University, EXTOL Project Manager David Ogozalek introduced the EBI 3 Studio.

Dave’s session showed users how to navigate the EBI 3 Studio Client. The studio client is much more than a place to view and develop the EBI objects.

Dave showed users the following aspects :

EBI 3 PERSPECTIVES:

  • Workbench: The EBI Workbench perspective serves as EBI’s design-time environment. EBI objects used in your integration Projects are created and maintained here.
  • Admin Console: Use Admin Console perspective to perform various administrative functions and monitor system operations. Users can access the local server and production servers from here.
  • SVN Repository: The SVN Repository Exploring perspective allows for operating and navigating repository locations.
  • Team Synchronizing: The Team Synchronizing perspective is used to synchronize resources in the local Workspace with their counterparts shared in a repository. Common uses include synchronizing resource versions, viewing history, and comparing resource content.

WINDOW CONTROL:

  • Minimize/Maximize
  • Move Window
  • Detach Window
  • View Menu

OBJECT CREATION: Dave showed the multiple ways to create EXTOL objects in the EBI Studio

TIPS and TRICKS:

  • Locate EBI Objects with Ctrl+Shift+R
  • Link with Editor
  • Utilizing multiple workspaces for Test/QA and Production
  • How to Copy rules/logic between rulesets
  • How to back-out changes via Edit->Undo (Ctrl+Z)

Below are supplementary posts that can assist users navigating the EBI 3 Studio:

Best Practice to Create Workspace for EDI Projects and Packages

EXTOL University - Deploying Migrated Projects in EBI 3

Posted on 9th October 2014

image

EXTOL’s session by Pete Stetson on Deploying Migrated Projects in EBI 3 reviewed multiple scenarios. Pete walked a room full of users through EBI 3 scenarios that take workbench projects and explore how they can be deployed to the EBI Local Server.

Due to time limitations we were not able to complete all the scenarios. For users looking to recap the scenarios or for EXTOL Customers unable to to attend EU 2014, CONTACT us and we can review the scenarios with you.

SCENARIOS DISCUSSED:

Scenario Deploying to Local Server:

  • User wants to deploy migrated objects to the Local Test Server for testing purposes. Deploying to the Local Test Server requires deploying specific objects instead of projects.

Uninstalling From Local Test Server

  • User had deployed and tested the migrated objects on the Local Server. EBI 3 user would now like to deploy them to a Remote Server for remote deployment testing.

Deploy and Install to a remote EBI Server

  • EBI 3 user is ready to test the actual Project as a whole on a Remote EBI Server. Deploying and Installing to a Remote EBI Server shows users the full effect of how the project will run in production.

Deploy and Install Projects with Errors to Remote EBI Server

  • EBI user’s project has an error and they attempt to deploy that project to the Remote EBI Server. Errors need to first be corrected before being able to deploy and install a project to a Remote EBI Server.

Re-deploying a Project to a Remote EBI Server

  • EBI 3 user needs to make an adjustment to a particular object within a project that is already deployed. There is no need to uninstall the project in order to have the change take place, all that is needed is to Re-deploy the project to the Remote EBI Server.

EXTOL University - Executive Roadmap of EXTOL Products

Posted on 7th October 2014

image

In this morning’s Executive Roadmap Session, we reviewed future releases in EBI 3 ie. EBI 3.1

  • Email Adapter/Monitor (POP3/IMAP/SMTP) for B2B integration
  • Smart mapping
  • Enterprise database option - Allow users to use alternate database to store EXTOL internal data - Possibly release mid 2015
  • New Dashboard
  • XML and Web services enhancements
  • Queuing and distributed architecture enhancements

Somewhere down the list:

  • Migration Assistant - Allowing users to take an x12 ruleset and convert it to an EDIFACT Map. Or take an x12 ruleset and apply the logic to an XML Schema.

Side note:

There was a good discussion on how EXTOL will implement the email adapter/monitor. The discussion focused on how EBI 3 would address un-formatted data possibly in the email body and/or email attachment. This issue is going to be looked into more.

Review: Remedi's End-of-Support Dates for EXTOL's products

Posted on 3rd October 2014

Remedi-End-of-Support-blog

In Remedi’s September 19 2014 posting: Integration And EDI Software End of Support Dates - EXTOL there are references to sunset dates for the EXTOL product line.

IN A NUTSHELL: No products are being discontinued, support is not going away.

My Take: As a former EXTOL employee EXTOL is going to support all products. However, if a customer is on an early version of EBI and the end-user is having an issue that was (or possibly) addressed in a later version of an EXTOL product, EXTOL support is going to recommend the client upgrade.

Take EXTOL Business Integrator (EB) 2.5 for example. Many customers still use this version and EXTOL supports it. Since EBI 2.5 has been released, EBI 2.6 has been released with several 2.6 sub-releases. If a user has a re-occurring unexplained error EXTOL Support might try to debug the error in EBI 2.6, in-house. If the problem is solved EXTOL is going to recommend the user upgrade to EBI 2.6.

One takeaway that Remedi’s posting DID NOT ADDRESS: EBI 2.6 will be supported however, there will be no future sub-releases. Meaning if a minor bug is discovered in EBI 2.6, there will be no upgrades. However, if a serious issue is found EXTOL will think about a fix.

Review: Death by 1,000 Integration Tools

Posted on 15th September 2014

image

Above, EXTOL’s Jim O'Leary talks about companies implementing a hodgepodge of data translators that have to be supported by multiple resources with different skillsets. These data translators can be fully supported products and/or free downloadable solutions. Some have email support, some only have forum support.

Each time an integrator is implemented there are learning curves involved, new documentation, all new interfaces have to be created into your ERP system(s).

EXTOL Business Integrator offers users the ability to learn something once and extrapolate their learnings’ to multiple interfaces, ie, flatfile, xml, spreadsheet, edi, and database. With 24 hour support and multiple avenues to learn and maintain skillsets, EXTOL users have a ‘team’ behind them.

Most of all, alot of these interfaces have turned into mission critical processes. Is your company willing to place their trust in a online forum at 2am when orders are not being received???

Preparing for Release of EBI 3.1 - Mapping Enhancements

Posted on 20th August 2014

EXTOL has sent out another postcard for the upcoming release of EBI 3. This post card discusses Mapping Enhancements.

EXTOL Business Integrator (EBI) 3 Mapping Enhancements

These mapping (ruleset) enhancements are long overdue and a blessing in disguise!

Two such enhancements are the ability to undo changes and copy rules/logic between rulesets.

Undo Changes: After multiple changes are performed in a EBI 2.6 ruleset, users do not have the ability to undo this chain of events. With EBI 3 users not only have the ability to undo specific changes, but can do so after mapping is saved.

Review of EXTOL Chronicles - Purging in EEI

Posted on 15th June 2014

In the post below, Phylis asked Barry about purging data in EXTOL EDI Integrator.

The EXTOL Command DLTDTA is the command to use to perform the purge. When users run DLTDTA the EXTOL subsystem should be stopped and the EXTOL JOBQ should be held.

If the command needs to be run during the day then the ‘Reorganization Log Files’ should be *NO. This will prevent file and member locks.

EXTOL Chronicles - Purging in EXTOL EDI Integrator

There are a few other EXTOL purging commands users should look into also:

  • DLTAPPNOM - Delete Application Non-Wrapped Members
  • DLTAPP - Delete Outbound Generated Errors

Review of EXTOL Chronicles - PGP in EBI

Posted on 8th June 2014

In the post below, Kimon asked Barry about implementing PGP in EXTOL Business Integrator.

PGP is more easily done on the Linux and Windows platforms. It can be quite challenging, on the iSeries, to implement an Open PGP solution such as GPG (GnuPGP).

EXTOL Chronicles - PGP in EBI

In the PGP/SFTP example here, we show how we can easily implement a PGP/SFTP solution in EXTOL Business Integrator 3, for Linux. Using the Linux’s OS PGP solution and EBI’s SFTP capabilities, we were able to use 3 business process scripts to perform: encrypt, archive, and SFTP PUT.

  • ALLUPN and ALLDOWNN have been enhanced to support pipes with 2-character names. They also support previously created pipes with 1-character names when the second byte is a space (e.g. “1 ”).
  • Enhancements were made to Data Member Control to prevent file locking on members.

In addition to pipelining and data member control updates, the EEI manual has been updated for webhelp format. It is accessible to via the EXTOL Customer Zone

EXTOL releases EDI Integrator (EEI) 6.4

Posted on 21st December 2013

EXTOL has released EDI Integrator 6.4

Below are some of the snippets EXTOL has released in its Whats New in EEI 6.4.pdf file.

AFTP
Automated FTP (AFTP) provides FTP customers an automatic way to create connections only when files exist on the remote server. It also runs an automated job that polls a site in scheduled intervals. High-volume customers may be especially interested in this feature.

Enhanced Web UI for EEI
The Web UI, which provides users with a browser-based front-end, has been enhanced with an updated look and feel as well as added functionality, such as auto-enter and a commonly used options menu. The updated UI is designed to take users through EEI screens faster for a seamless user experience.

New Standards
EEI supports new X12 standards 6050.

Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance
To follow Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, the authority on the EEI libraries has been changed to exclude public profiles. EEI users must have EXTOLOWN group (or supplemental group) authority in their profiles to be authorized to the EEI libraries and the objects in them.

Various bug fixes and performance improvements
Changes include improving the purge, save total trading partner, port maintenance, and interchange send options.

EXTOL releases new version of EXTOL Business Integrator 3.1 Beta

Posted on 18th October 2013

EXTOL released an updated version of EXTOL EBI 3 Beta on October 15. Based on the email below many enhancements have occurred and after putting the product to the test, I am finding that the product is continuing to grow and add much value to users and organizations.

One glaring difference I see on a daily basis is the idea of organizing projects and packages. Having used EBI 2 and EEI, EBI 3 offers a refreshing experience when it comes to compartmentalizing objects.

For example, most users experience the process of moving set-ups, TPs, rulesets and etc, between installs. EBI 2 does a great job to identify existing usage, but EBI 3 does a better job via the eclipse platform.

EXTOL EBI 3.x - Copying rules between rulesets

Posted on 8th April 2013

EXTOL 3.x will allow for copying rules between rulesets. Currently this does not exist in EBI 2.x.

This awesome functionality will allow for custom coding to traverse multiple unrelated rulesets. It will reduce development time when it comes to specific coding.

For example, when populating JD Edwards F47 tables, there are control and auditing fields. We can set-up a template in EXTOL Business Integrator to populate these fields, ie. EDOC, EDST, EDER, UPMJ, TDAY and etc. This template of EXTOL JDE rules can then be copied among the EBI JDE rulesets

-----------------

EXTOL 3.x - Search capabilities

Posted on 18th March 2013

Since EXTOL 3.x is going to be file based, versus database, users will be able to search EXTOL objects such as EBI rulesets for certain occurrences.

Currently this does not exist in EBI 2.x.

For example,  if you want to see which EBI Actions are being applied to EBI rulesets there is no way to list the dependencies.

EXTOL EDI Integrator users (AS400) can think of this as placing a ’T’ on a EDI message class to see what code tables are being applied to the map.

EXTOL 3.x -- Naming conventions -> No more spaces or dashes

Posted on 14th March 2013

EXTOL 3.1 is going to eliminate the possibilities to name any EBI objects, with hyphens and spaces.

There will be a migration path that will help users migrate existing objects from their current naming conventions to the EBI 3.1 standards without hyphens and spaces.

Current EBI 2.x users might find it helpful to start updating existing EXTOL objects to remove hyphens and spaces.

EXTOL Business Integrator 2.6 -- SFTP support

Posted on 10th March 2013

EXTOL is able to support the SFTP processes of GET/PUT/MGET/MPUT.

For users that are accustomed to the normal FTP set-up in EBI, they will find that there are no EBI SFTP adapters. Due to the shortened development cycle and the strong customer demand, EXTOL created SFTP tasks in EBI Business Process Scripts.

I have been using the SFTP communications a couple days after it was released and I have had zero problems.

EBI Roadmap - Migrating from Extol Integrator to EBI

Posted on 4th July 2012

Migrating from EXTOL EDI Integrator iSeries can be an easy feat. However, understanding the new features of EBI and how they equate to EEI functionality is very important. We will review the steps in upcoming posts to show how we can match certain EEI functions/screens to EBI functions/screens.

From code tables to archiving and purging, we will try to explore all aspects involved with an EEI to EBI migration.

In our examples we will show how to migrate to EBI 2.6 and earlier versions.

Lessons Learned: Upgrading EXTOL Business Integrator from 2.2.1 to 2.5

Posted on 7th June 2012

Over the weekend I upgraded EXTOL Business Integrator (EBI) version 2.2.1 to version 2.5. It was quite a lengthy process that had many issues.

I first started off by installing EBI 2.5 in its own unique directory. In our case it was the D:\ drive. Once EBI 2.5 was installed, we were instructed to run Upgrade.exe.

With Upgrade.exe we were asked where the current install of EBI 2.2.1 was located. In our case, it was also the D:\ drive. From here the upgrade was rocky.

ISSUE #1:

We first started to see errors pop up when the EBI upgrade process tried to delete the dbx.lck, and dbx. files.

ERROR – Unable to remove file (D:\EBI25\database\xdb1\db.lck) for unknown reason

ERROR – Unable to remove file (D:\EBI25\database\log\log.ctrl) for unknown reason

To resolve this issue, I <right clicked> on the recycling bin. From there I selected “Properties”. From there, I de-selected “Display delete confirmation dialog”.

This resolved a majority of the errors, however I started to encounter additional errors.

ISSUE #2:

ERROR – Source file/directory (C:\EBI21\ebi\sm) cannot be read.

To resolve this issue, I granted the user profile I was using full control over both directories – D:\EBI221 and D:\EBI25 – recursively.

LESSON LEARNED:

Next time I perform an upgrade I plan to do a ‘dry-run’ where I copy the source directory and find an available partition/machine to run the upgrade over. This will give me the reassurances I need to perform the upgrade.

As-is, the upgrade process is temperamental at best. To recover from an error we had to close the window and start from scratch. There was no warning/notice to give additional details/instructions. I closed the window and started all over again. I did this approximately 12+ times.

Review of EXTOL's April EBI Blog

Posted on 19th May 2012

EXTOLBlog-043012

http://www.extol.com/blog/?p=1215

In EXTOL’s April blog, under the EBI section there is a reference to using global variables. In the example they use the value ‘glb.var.Value01’.

In earlier versions of EXTOL EBI, ie. 2.2, I have found that the first character of the root variable, 'V’ always needs to be capitalized. When the value is not capitalized EBI does not pass the value between the ruleset and business process script.
