Implement SFTP with BATCHFTPS and Digital Certificate Manager

26th March 2015

EXTOL EDI Integrator supports SFTP via the EEI Command; BATCHFTPS. In addition to using the EXTOL command, utilizing the IBM Digital Certificate Manager is required.

Just like plan-vanilla FTP, EXTOL assists users in setting up an SFTP Server and SFTP Client, on the iSeries.

In the screenshot below we review BATCHFTPS and the the addition of 2 new parameters:

  • Secure Connection (SECCNN)
  • Data protection (DTAPROT)

To assist with the implementation of SFTP in EEI, EXTOL has issued a tech memo to walk users thru the steps of setting up an SFTP Server and SFTP Client.

The EXTOL tech memo will walk users thru the following steps:

  • Configuration
  • Starting DCM
  • Create digital certificates
  • Import digital certificates
  • Configure SFTP Server
  • Configure SFTP Client
  • Test Configurations
  • Review sample scripts
