EEI Formula: Send email from map using EXENOTE

27th May 2012

There are times that we need to send an email within the map. By sending an email within an EXTOL EDI map we have access to data for the respective transaction. In using a formula with the EXTOL EXENOTE command, we can avoid using and CL/RPG programming.

In our example we will use an EXTOL Formula to send an email using a defined constant in an EXTOL EDI map.

EXENOTE TOADR(&A) FROMADR(EXTOL@Customer.com) FROMNAME(EXTOL) SUBJECT(’&B EDI ORDER RECEIVED’) MESSAGE(‘Order received from: &B Connection Log #: &F PO#: &C Address Book #: &D # of Detail Lines: &E’)
